slowest websites on record?
vlad01 - July 22nd, 2014 at 12:15 PM

Looking at carsales.com.au

waiting several minutes for anything to load on there, been like that for years. Got me thinking what are the slowest sites on record?

Googled exactly that! none of the records are close to how slow carsales is.

what are your slowest sites?

This forum used to be one of the slowest but that got fixed.

sounds like you need a computer upgrade.....carsales works fine for me :tu:

vlad01 - July 22nd, 2014 at 12:48 PM

yes computer upgrade:rolleyes: computers have nothing to do with internet or website speed. Even the fastest internet connections in Australia can't even be close to utilizing the slowest computers.

doesn't matter what computer or who's internet i use or the 100s of times i used that site. its constantly slow, its their end.

nearly all sites I use load under a sec. can also download a TV show in 90 sec

No its not.....Vlad01 said its slow, so it MUST be slow for everyone

esevwbits - July 22nd, 2014 at 03:22 PM

haha i use it daily... maybe the models you search for are overly broad... search: Commodores. ?

vlad01 - July 22nd, 2014 at 05:06 PM

914s mainly. there is only 3 of them at any given time.

doesn't matter what I pick to look up or if I do it on telstra, TPG or internode ISPs or browser, or PC. all slow as hell.

Maybe might be my luck always happen to search when the server is bogged down? who knows.

when I do, there is only 10 or less of the series I look for. Don't think that's the problem.

haha very funny.

mind you, I tryed the slowest site in the last 10 days on the net said to take 55 sec to load. sure enough it did, on the other hand carsales was like 4 or 5 min :grind:

I used a web site testing site that loads the site from different countries. test failed from within Australia but ranged 3-5 sec in other countries no problem.

vlad01 - July 22nd, 2014 at 05:28 PM

ok anyone one from Melbourne have problems then?

only other thing I can think of that is in common is all the ISPs I used at various places like work, friends's house etc.. is the ISP servers are based in Melbourne

carsales server is in Switzerland from my diggings if that makes any difference.

Craig Torrens - July 22nd, 2014 at 06:38 PM

Porsche 914 example:

About 1.5 sec to open carsales from browser.

1.5 sec from when I press 'search' until it opens the page with the 3 listed.

1 to 1.5 sec to open the Ad after I 'click' on the photo of the car.

:tu:
