I have just acquired this little gem.

Does anyone know the origins of these? I've googled the hell out of it and found plenty that look similar but nothing quite the same ( all the ones I've seen have a star or other symbol, this one has an actual VW symbol on the bonnet and on the hubcaps). I know it's at least 30 years old but was it official VW or made elsewhere, anyone got some info?

found em in a throw out to be honest! steel body plastic bars, vw on the bonnet and caps.

I remember Boris at VVDS used to sell these, new, back in the late '80s and early '90s. Give him a ring, he may remember some of the details. (02) 9789 1777

We actually purchased one of these new for our first Grandchild; it was stored and delivered almost 25 years later! The original price was $189. After that long in storage, the paint and chrome needed a good clean and polish.

It was originally marketed as Agro's car, in Queensland.

Our Grand-daughter enjoys it immensely.

regards

Hope to get out and give it a clean up this weekend in between paint coats on kombi wheels and bullbar repairs, pull off the broken parts and work on making replacements (or buying the remakes from o/s).

Then try to convince the 3 and a half year old that she's too tall to fit in it.....
