In the July 2014 edition of Hot VWs in the Tech Talk column, they discuss optimal vw fan rpm, they refer to an earlier article written by Steve
Phillips in his Air Tech column. Can someone be kind enough to find me that article.
thanks Grahame
I'll be home in a few days if nobody else has scanned it by then, but basically they were parroting this little piece of testing on VW
fans........
http://www.offroadvw.net/tech/wes/fan.html
..........and thank you very muchly ta to the guys that wrote the piece. Good stuff.
Oh, and did I mention the testers concerned were gentlemen AND scholars?
Thanks modnrod, I know about Wes's stuff, thought it may have something new!
I just looked at my HotVW's and cannot find any discussion about fans in the Air Tech section. Just had a quick look, not every word, but no joy
Cheers
In the October 2014 edition in Air Tech by Steve Phillips there is a piece on all the important tin pieces.
That's the only one I could find, but my August and June editions down are all at work.
I could scan the thing, but since I have Windows 8.1 on my new computer, and since I have been unfortunate enough to have used various Windows
editions for the last umpteen years since 3.1.1, I obviously don't have the necessary skills to be able to scan a copy at less than 1.4Mb or resize
it down to 150-250K or so. Possibly with another 20 years of daily experience I may develop the skills required to drive this complete POS to manage
simple basic tasks.
Oh, or I could email it to you.
Yes, thanks
Thanks for the article Modnrod
Ah, that explains why I couldn't find it. You said July issue and a few months earlier, so I only looked back from July. All good. Must re read that
Oct article myself tonight
Cheers
Hulbyw,
There was nothing about fan speed, which is the bit I am interested in, just the importance of tinware on the engine.
