Any one know where to get NSW gree slip. I've been quoted $900 for 1956 beetle. Is that what I can expect to pay.

I just paid $318 for a 75 L bug from Shannons. The car is normally garaged in Port Macquarie (regional area) and is registered private with no input tax credit. I have had comprehensive insurance with Shannons for more than 6 years, I have had my licence for more than 6 years, I have had 1 at fault accident in the last 2 years, and I am in the 55 - 69 years age range.

If you are young and in the city, I reckon it would be a lot more.

I've found Shannons to be the cheapest for Green Slips, however you you need to have the car insured with them.

I recently did a phone around to compare, Shannon's it is, GIO were dearer, guess who Shannon's are aligned with. :spin:

Don't know what you mean by aligned with, but it's not GIO, they are actually underwritten by AAMI, under their misleading title of 'Australian Alliance Insurance Companies'

As a complete bit of trivia the Suncorp Group owns AAMI, Just Car Insurance, Bingle, GIO, Apia, Insure my Ride and Shannons amongst a few others


Oh and not saying there are some cynics on AVD but this may help win that trivia night.

Shannons was $365 for my 56 bug I have full comprehensive insurance on it as well

Hey Rose, what was your premium and insured amount if you don't mind. I was quoted $304 for 20k.

Mines insured for $18,000 and it cost me $200 and something not sure how much as we have several cars insured through Shannon's
