Yep this is a legendary car.

Fortunately the Newman VW has been restored to its original setup. Apparently it went to auction and sold for $250,000. Read more about it and its resto here:

I wonder where it wound up after it sold? Probably just some private collection in the US, but I can always dream that it landed in Australia can't I. :rolleyes:
