If it is anodised aluminium, it will need to be stripped first. We get them done at work by a place in Blackburn (Melbourne) It is very expensive to get stripped, repaired, polished and re-anodised.

Stripping is the cheaper part of the job.

You can get them polished by any metal polisher business.

Thanks Pete, I will go down there and have a chat about processes and prices. The trim on my German '68 Beetle is very dull. I can get a new kit for around $190 however I too would rather use what came with the car if I can

there is a mob in Sydney that will re anodise but will not polish you have to get that done yourself ,it has to be spot on the better the polish as in no dents or scratches the better it will come out they are in Peakhurst
