Ive got a T5, the air con constantly turns on and off. It is not a gas issue and the compressor is running and up to pressure.

After a weekend of not driving it, it usually takes around 10 minutes for it to start operating.

Even when you start the car it is not working, you give it a rev and it starts operating. Even when coming to a stop and the revs drop, it stops working..

Anyone work on these things?

The issue on mine was the gas sensor. A plastic sensor that checks the gas level and pressure. It was faulty and caused the aircon to randomly switch off. Bend over a barrel to take the price. - $120 for a plastic plug and you have to regas the system.

yours was small. mine was the compressor vanes disintegrated and stuffed the condenser. 10g for the replacement pack and was told since it was one month out of warranty i had to wear it.

yep whole system and labour. talk about a raw deal. they ended up coming to the part when i started talking statutory warranties and expectations and brought it down to 2g it was mainly labour. also this was in a golf.
