removing scatches on glass
alansvw - August 23rd, 2016 at 01:49 PM

I have had my Ghia window glass tinted while it was out of the car and it has shown up some scratches. Does anyone know a good window repairer who can polish out scratches or is there a way to remove the scratches yourself?

It's my understanding that if you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, you've got buckle's chance of removing it.

If the scratches are too deep then get the repairer.

If they aren't that bad then you could try tooth paste. It typically is used to take scratches out of watch faces etc.

I have used it on a mates windscreen without any issues - but his scratches weren't deep.

Tooth paste is just a cutting compound so in theory you could use a buffing pad with it.

Obviously don't stay in the same spot for long etc etc.
