Had this pic for a bit in the 1970's a chap named Langdon Badger searched the old aeroplane wrecks of northern
Australia and the island's north of the country for Spitfire bits.After many moons he got enough together to make up a Spitfire MkV.
Of course how do you collect bits of a Spitfire from the remote areas of northern in Langdon's words with the "Spitwagen."
Have a look at the pic with the lady holding an axe in one hand and the gentleman's head in the other, does she
look like she is over it or what? Caption "if we have to spend another day in this bush looking for bits of wrecked aeroplane junk it's off with
your head."
And what became of the bits of Spitfire, she now takes pride and place at the South Australian Aviation Museum.
