Always wanted a splitty as a useable daily but prices are bonkers and im not a restorer
So this one might be a workable solution but expert advice is wanted and very welcome..
Are left hangers registerable in all states (im in WA but prepared to travel to get a good one )

Looks like a grey import as it would be earlier than a 1973 model, that might be the compliance date, I have a grey import 180SX that is a 92 model but is 98 complianced
Could be a Brazilian import?
Not always a good idea to post links in case some else thinks it is a good buy
Saw it happen few times
as for "spliity" and "usable daily" i wouldnt put those groups of words together
Left hookers are fun to drive.................. but as a daily?
Sounds like you would still be sinking another $10 - 20k into it to make it "reliable"
There is no mention of an IRS conversion and I would be wanting that in a daily splitty
That is $7 - 10k
add complete brake overhaul, rust, fresh motor..........
Looks like it needs a lot of tender care and an overhaul to make it a daily driver.... a lot of money for a vehicle that needs to be overhauled
mechanically and all rust taken out....
it is a long way from WA.....
That doesn't look like a 1700cc engine....

This could be a good buy...or it could be goodbye to a lot of money?
The sort of thing that needs to be carefully inspected first.
Odd- 1973 Splitty with ice pick door handles- doesn't add up??- definately worth owning though.
Thanks all, think ill put this idea back in the too hard basket, feels like that ship has sailed now and unless we get a major financial meltdown i think the good useable ones are going to stay out of my reach and hidden in baby boomers triple garages (like the one on that bloddy Shannons ad) - shame isnt it :/
Dont get too dispared
Look at bays
And look at vanagons
The cool factor is about getting out and enjoying the rooad

Thanks everyone, will keep looing but in the interim ive gone in a different direction and snagged myself a registered '70 notchback project for $1000 so that should keep me busy for a while, will put up pics ehen i get it home next week
i like notches quiet and strong body
enjoy!
Was chatting to a friend the other day about Kombis and encouraging them to look at Vanagons. All the best bits of bays without the rust and horror.
