The UK Online Safety Laws are already in effect, and they are already causing chaos. Australia's under 16 social media ban is coming December 10, 2025.

Both pieces of legislation don't make kids safer, because they literally are forced to browse the internet without account features designed to protect them.

As a forum, I'm required to verify your age and prevent minors from using any features that might "harm" them.

So what's happening?

• I need to stop people being able to send each other pictures in DMs

Age verification could begin with date a member joined AVD - prior to 2010 would almost certainly verify they are over the 16 yr minimum age
