Those were the glory days of ClubVW Illawarra. When every second member had a quick car, most of them turbo. Everyone was young and no kids to hold us down. The good old days before the 'rotary scandal'. The club president of the time, Dave Rogers, had mulholland rear guards I think, but not the square lights up front. (merge threads)

In the early days of Valla they used to havea fancy dress parade. And they used to have a Mr and Miss bug contest that guys n girls would get up on the dance floor n strut there stuff.....

I just devised a proper Mr Bug costum up from various bits of a Bug and got dress up in them...

Got dress up in the Mens room and when time for the parade came around i went out on the floor and had the trophy all to myself.

I had flashing lights beeping horn and a semiphore that stood to attention placed in just the right position when i hit the micro switch.

Gene and Dee Berg WET themselves when they saw my costum.
