Do any of you old guys remember this bus from the early 70's, it ran 14 second 1/4 on the rear wheels:o
It was owned and driven by a crazy dude called Neville adler. needness to say it didn't have the original 36hp engine.
Scary thought trying to keep the wheels down, real sleeper, mine does 30sec 1/4 or thereabouts, sorry if that sounds like I'm bragging but 36hp and 6v fully loaded inc camping gear.volma1
Looks very cool:o
No back door, why? Is that part of the engine I can see there?
Neville lived next dor to a mate of mine during the 70s .He lived in Cromer on the Northern Beaches here in Sydney. His surname was Alder I think not
Adler and he was a very cool dude into chevy V8s and all things performance .
He had a shope which is still open and trading under the A.P.E. name (Alder performance engeneering ) in Winbourne road Brookvale just aroungd the
corner from Beetle wreckers. I dont know if he still runs it .
He is a master machinist and was an expert trouble /problem solver.
He was quite eccentric as attested to his many off beat projects ,he mated a holden 202 block to a ford six cylinder camshaft for some oblique reason
, and ran a registered japaneese delivery van with a V8 in the back.
