Email notification. Just a suggestion

Another Forum that I am on has the facility to inform you by email if one of your posting had a response. I find it quite useful really. Anyone of the same opinion? How difficult is it to implement?

I find it a pain in the a$$!!
But then ive only used it on forums where u get 20 responses in a few hours, thus you end up with a million emails!

The function is actually at the bottom of the post screen as you are typing your post...

"Disable smileys?
Use signature?
Turn BBCode off?
Receive email notification of new replies? "

That feature currently has a bug so the file (emailfriend.php) is actually removed right now.

When you tick "Receive e-mail notification of new replies" in the thread, I'm not sure if that works at the moment.

Does it work?

Hi

I go to The German Look & The Superbeetle forums, on both of these you can request an email notification. What I prefer is the list of new posts since my last visit. On this forum I use the "todays post" button but if Im away for a few days I need to go through all the sections to find all the new posts.

It would be a good option to have for some people who are seeking an answer to a particular question or in Buy, Swap and Sell etc.

But with the way I post I would not want that may emails arriving:jesus;)

So have it as an option for people to choose in their profile

It does work.

For the other options - phpBB ( http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/phpBB  for the test forum) has that option.

They're up to M2. When they get to 2.2, we're there.
