Split Single/double cab

What year did the rear window in the splitscreen utes change from the small to the large window?

Aussie split single cabs stayed with the small window right up to '67 because of the high roof air intake for the engine.
Dual cabs went to the big window in '64? I think.

So a 65 should have the big window? Or someone may have grafted a small window into it...?

Hard to say with Aussie cabs as it seems we got all the left over old stuff,I've seen dual cabs with small windows and big front indicators and dualcabs with big rear window and big front indicators but it seems that only the very last years that aussie utes had big rear windows as the normal vans changed rear doors and front indicators etc and there was a deffinate change.
So if you see a single cab with a small rear window it may be that V.W. Aus were just using up the left over small rear cuts but is done by the factory not a backyard job.

My Dad has a 1965 dualcab and it has a small rear window and has a 67 with a big rear window so who really knows when the change was with Aussie utes.

The bigger rear window arrived in 66 for the splitty utes.

Not the single cab, the Aussie one stayed with the small window, because of the double skin roof where the engine gets its cooling air from.
