KLUB VW OFFROAD EVENT and STATE of ORIGIN CHALLENGE

KLUB TRIP NOVEMBER 1 AND 2 STOCKTON SAND DUNES

Stockton Sand Dunes information

KLUB V.W. OFFROAD will be having a meet on Saturday the 1st and 2nd of November at the Stockton Sand Dune Complex for a weekend of fun driving and camping at the sand dunes.

All offroad enthusiasts are welcome to come along and join in this fun weekend at the dunes that are 24 km long and 2 km wide. A barbecue will be held Saturday night.

If you wish to stay over night camping or cabins are available at the Stockton Beach Tourist Park (Ph 02- 4928 –1393) at the southern end of the sand dunes. Prices per night are $15 a site for 2 people camping, or $40 per 2 people in a cabin. It is best to book in advance.

A permit is required per vehicle to drive on the Stockton dunes or beach ($5 for 2 days or $25 a year). These are available at the large Metro service station at the roundabout at the start of Lovetts Lane (William Town Sth) or the mobile service station Gan Gan road (Anna Bay Nth) both a 5-minute drive from the dunes.

Trophies sponsored by SHARPBUILT The Dune Buggy Specialist http//www.sharpbuilt.com.au suppliers of the GS SPORT and GS LIMO Dune Buggy will be presented to 2 street registered cars 'up to 1650cc' and 2 street registered cars 'open' that have jumped, crested or travelled the greatest distance up the face of a nominated sand dune.

A STATE OF ORIGIN challenge trophy will also sponsored by SHARPBUILT between QUEENSLAND V/S NSW

Queensland got it last year who will win it this year

Each state will be represented by 2 street registered open class cars and 2 up to 1650cc
Points will be given 1 to 4
The state with the lowest total points will be declared the winner

hmmmm...damn that's a long drive! hmmm...I wonder if?...Do I need to be a member cause I haven't gotten around to putting in a application form yet? Because that would be so cool if I could somehow get down there. hmmmm....

If all goes to plan we will have quite a few Brisbane ManxClub members heading down. You can cruise down with us if you like. Are you guys still planning on coming to Stockton this weekend ?

Well Brad has an exam the day before and the day after the weekend, so he can't make it.

I've been going away a bit for work and have some things on that weekend, so unfortunately I can't make it. And at the moment it looks like I might be stuck in Townsville over the Fraser weekend too.

I think Andrew and maybe Terry are trying to make it down for the weekend. But I haven't spoken to them for a while. It's such a busy time of the year I guess. I will make it down there again one day...

any qld north nsw buggers (LOL love that term) coming down and when? i am travelling solocar from taree. leavin' bout 6-30--7am sat morn to meet up with guys at the servo near the beach. stayin' at the boatrowers hotel in stockton then cruizin' home sunday arvo.

no no no lardo. thats how they won last time. if they cant make the numbers then they forfeit... then they can have some numbers to make it fun.

watch out 2g. taree is closer to QLD than the central coast and as usual the softies up north have backed out you will end up being a cane toad if you are not discreet. See you Sat. for breaky.

yeah it was a great weekend. i have some pics and will post them. but gotta get the sand out of my camera first.

and waht a poor effort by Qld. i think we had two.... thats a win to nsw by default.
