My dad built a VW buggy from scratch a few years ago. It has a custom built body on it and a fully VW 1600 engine, tweaked out to almost 2 litres. It still has the original Solex carburettor and 4-speed VW manual gearbox in it and it still runs to this day. Yesterday we had a little dilemma with it. My brother ran it out of fuel, we got going but it kept cutting out on us. So Dad cleaned the main jet and the carburettor. Now she runs sweeter than before. I was not happy aws I thought it was water through the electrics. So the vehicle keeps running and running!!!!:cussing
