A question of bandwidth

I think a lot of us need to think about some of the things we are posting. It just seems like lately there is a lot of nonsense happening, as well as things like avatars and sig lines getting out of control.

I'd like to pick out some examples but I dont want to be seen as picking on somebody. I know I am guilty of it at times myself so that would be wrong anyway.

I just think we need to realise things like when we post a 50K picture thats downloaded by just 10% of the members, thats 7Mb of bandwith.

I'm thinking we need to realise that a post count is just a number. There's no prize for it. We need to be more active in trying to link pictures from elsewhere. Link from the site where you found it if possible. Use webspace provided by your ISP if applicable.

Again I'm not singling anyone out, just this week I attached a picture of a USB toothbrush, didnt need to be shown, AND i have space provided to me by ozemail that I have never used.

Thats not to say we shouldnt muck around a bit and have fun, just be wary of what we are doing, especially when it comes to pictures. I think we somehow need to show a little bit of restraint here otherwise we wont have a forum to look at come the end of each month.
