i used to go there when we had out camper van.we went there for about 4 years in a row. but we had to sell the camper because the only time we used it was going to bathurst and it was in the way. I think it would be pretty hard to get on the mountain have u booked up there?
I ussually spend all day in front of the tv but this year we have to move out of our house so I guess I'll watch the end maybe
marcel
na where not campin up there stuff that there a wild bunch up there!!! just thats where we sit where stayin in a pub about 500m away!!!
cheers
rhys
kool. yeh they are crazy good burnout displays down the bottom tho:thumb we had to move our camper it was on the border of the donut patch. they also
burnt some poor guys car and pissed on it. i love it up there
LOL Chris
Lucky you moved the camper otherwise it might have got torched & pissed on too :o
In a couple of years you'll be able to drive the ute up there:thumb
I love Bathurst:kiss When I lived at Penrith I went every year religiously:jesus I would get on the top of the mountain on the Tuesday to get a good
spot.
One year I didn't have a car and took a bus, a train and taxi to get there. Couldn't wait until my mates got there on the Friday night, too
much fun to be had:P
When I sit down at the lounge with my esky and watch the race it brings back the memories of being there.
Ahhh Bathurst. It's what motor racing is all about.
Have a good time Kombi Kid. Wish I was meeting you up there
I love any sort of car racing. I love bathurst. I get shivers when I drive up there. I dont go there when V8's are around though. I went once as
a spectator up top, and once as a crew member on the ENZED team (1994-crashed out). I wont go on race weekend because of the dickheads that do
burnouts, torch cars and piss on them. Quite frankly I rate myself a little more mature than that. I'm surprised there arent more fatalities
there.
I will watch every minute on TV. I will swear and curse when all the exciting things happen during the ad breaks and the enfuriating hourly updates so
we miss it. I will curse at the filler material being the same on sunday as it is on saturday. I will laugh when the DJR team crashes out yet again. I
will throw things at the TV when Paul Morris is 3 laps down and tries to race for position with the leader. I will watch with amazement when HRT has
some catastrophic problem but still finish in the top 5 with both cars. I will recite Brad Jones's sorry story about back markers and Avesco when
he gets his interview. I will cry for greg murphy when the stewards rip him off completely by going one better with a 10 minute penalty.
Bring it on. I want to see if Ambrose is as diplomatic as he was at sandown when Ingall drives his car into the wall first corner up mountain
straight.
If you want to go to bathurst for a good weekend go up on the first weekend of december and race your own car. its awesome.
its just not the same on TV!!! specially when ur freezing cold its pissing down rain and ur sitting on the corner going onto conrod straight with 3
laps to go and craig lownes smashes into the corner!!! and you've only got 3 beers leftr in the esky!!
cheers
rhys
not that you would be drinking though right?
I know what you mean, the atmosphere is good. My mate made me walk around the track at midnight in the rain. He said it was tradition :o Well the
amount of times my drunken butt hit the pavement slipping on wet ripple strips led me to believe that you shouldnt drink and walk, let alone drive.
hey
walking along conrod straight is long enough let alone the whole track!!!
cheers
rhys
I've walked a lap of the track. It's a long way but it was worth it. You've also got to drive a lap if you get a chance.
Until you actually see the track you don't get the perspective of just how steep the track is. TV does'nt do it justice.
Anyway I will still be watching it on TV this weekend. But at least I can say I've experienced the real thing
ive been around it in a minny bus
cheers
rhys
I went up there last year and sat with the yobbos at skyline. This year is a different story though.
Now that I work for Yokohama Tyres I am being flown up to Bathurst on a charter flight and I'll be well fed and watered in the Bob Jane Corporate
tent at the chase.
Sorry to gloat but I'm excited about it.
CYA, CT
PS before I knew I was going I had planned to spend the day with Jak working on our cars while watching the race on TV in Jak's garage.
It will also be good inspiration for Jak and I since we are racing at Eastern Creek the following weekend.
:P
LoL sum blokes i play football with have a drinking game, 1 beer for each lap . . . . . untill they loose count coz theyre a bit :puke:puke:puke
top of the hill and getin pissed . . . . . maybe next yr!!
yer we used to be in the ford coorparate box until day left ford............. showered with food and piss all day and its right on the start
line!!!
cheers
rhys

do y'all reckon that there should be other manufacturers in bathurst instead of just ford and holden? I mean it started off with lots of
different car makers, even minis, i reckon it would be more interesting if there were more...there should be a dub team too i reckon.:thumb
There was a supertourers category that had all makes but aussies didnt want to know about it. There's the gtp races and nations cup but
unfortunately that is spoiled by clowns like sam newman who shouldnt have a licence to speak let alone drive a race car.
I dont know that it should be open to every make and model but I think they should back away from the sports sedans that they are now. Ford should be
able to use anything in the ford parts bin, and holden should have to lose their ford rear ends and front ends.
Unfortunately there are too many holden fans that wouldnt go and watch holdens being lapped every 5 minutes (if they dont break), and toyota +
mistubishi dont make a rear wheel drive V8's. Besides the primmadonna v8 drivers would whine about slow cars being dangerous.
What I propose Mr Cochran is that the parity formula as it stands be dropped. Holden and ford use their own parts only. every time somebody wins a
race they gain a 5 - 10kg weight penalty. If you finish outside the top15 you lose 5-10kgs. Keeps things level even within the one make, not like in
recent years where HRT was light years in front of everyone.
What there is now is probably the best most competitive that its been in the last 15 years so cant really complain I guess. Just need to replace the
people in the stewards box with some that dont need leading around by a labrador in a harness.
what what what!
I thought bathurst was on next weekend!
My daughter has an athletics carnival on sunday! bugger bugger bugger.
