Starbug - October 8th, 2003 at 08:52 PM

At the moment ive got the chemical brothers being played loud and proud in the cd player. Most of the times i cycle through my goa/psytrance cds.
Dont get me wrong im not some idiot with a huge sub in her car who plays cheesy *unce unce unce* music to get everyones attention at traffic lights... noooo.... its got to be alot trippier and alot FASTER than that!:D:D:D:D

though i do enjoy some good dead kennedys (when im feeling particularly sardonic) and soundgarden, faith no more and led zeppelin (always good for a loooong drive somewhere really naturish)

3toes - October 8th, 2003 at 08:58 PM

Fun Lovin' Criminals, Zeppelin and Janis Joplin are in the stacker at the moment. Anybody heard the new Durex ad on the radio? They use "Great gig in the sky" off Dark side of the moon. One of my favourite tracks ruined for me. :cry

Oh man, you boys are bringing a tear to my eye. Do we have taste on this forum or what? :D

I still reckon interstate driving at night needs to have the best of album "a slight case of overbombing" by "the sisters of mercy" playing. Just the rythm in the music is perfect for driving too
Got the new Klay Scott album tho, celldweller. There are some WICKED driving tracks on that one, tracks 4 and 6 are mainly on repeat.
Or if you like Rammstein, try driving to some KMFDM (or MDFMK when they reformed). You will lose your license tho :( And Tiamat are definately a new fave.

I feel sorry for young PPL today, the old pub rock scene, Has almost dissapered, I remember growing up on sydney's northeren beaches, going to great venues like The Royal antler, at Narrabeen, the Dee Why hotel, Mona Vale hotel, Newport Arm's, and paying ten bucks, to see Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel, the Radiators, Divynals, ACDC, Mental as Anything, the Angel's, and countless others, most of all the old room's (bar) have been filled up with Pokie's!
I think we should start up a campain to bring back venue's for pub bands! whos with me!
Rob.......

HotRodMatt - October 9th, 2003 at 06:47 AM

Go Pat! Yeah the Dead Kennedys!

Though I have to listen furtively as the missus hates them....

How many times did I see Ramstien mentioned.... god those guys have stolen the worst of Krautmusik and do it poorly. For real German avante gardism and excellence in it execution try Einsturzende Neubauten - the original and ONLY real industrial band in the world. Long before Reznor and those Ram boys were even out of nappies.....

Matt, I agree with the Rammstein comments. Do you get into stuff like Front 242, or Nitzer Ebb?

I forgot old(er) hiphop. I'm so happy I just found out that Public Enemy are touring, I remember seeing them do a double show with IceT, back in '92 I was only 12 and very impressionable.

decked dubby - October 9th, 2003 at 11:10 AM
