i really like mk1s!
i had a mk2 gti which had been fitted with a 1.6 turbo diesel lump, economical and fun to drive :)
but i think vw lost their way a bit with mk3,4 etc......

love them. i'd buy as many as i could if i had the money. i've got a long time to do that though...i'm on 17

I had a 92 Aussie spec GTi. Very over-rated in my opinion. Gearbox was utter shite (quite common apparently) and was utterly gutless. Well built, but DULL.

I have one to race <----- I love it alot of guts and fun. Me and my dad put the motor in ourselfs.

my dads godda 85 golf cabrio with 17' and a gti motor and sum greman exaust cant rememba the name but the car goes hard!!! hes selling it but :cry i wannit badd

They can be a good mode of transport between byron and Sydney in summer
