went down with my dad, with the sole intention of going to the motor show....
but as we were walking along i spotted the top of a splitty, then another etc.
it was a display celebrating 50 years of cool ass dubs
there was a very nice selection of dubs there too, a bit of everything, from ancient restos to full custom.
so, who organised it?

p.s. unfortunately i didn't have my camera with me, so no pics
Hope someone posts some pics:bounce:bounce

It was a really cool Day, starting with the motorcade across the Harbour Bridge, I think at one stage we spaned the whole Bridge! The police stopped traffic waved us through red lights and the lineup of 60 Dubs arrived at Darling Harbour to the forecourt area where the Motor show heads got a look at some really cool Dubs. It was different to VW shows as the people there were not Dub fans but I bet there will be a few converts! the Day was organised by the Volkswagen Group of Australia and the VW Classic Car Club. The run across the Bridge was covered by Channel 9 and although the report was brief I saw my Splitty on the news at 6.00 It may be repeated at 10.30 but I am not sure. We were given this really cool participation Medallion as a token of VGA's appreciation.............
That sounds so good
Someone musta had a camera:sandrine
well, you can imagine my surprise when i saw that little lot parked up anyway!!!!
great display!
i'll watch the news later incase they show it again.

too late to look thru my mags.......
way rarer than a rom but less known.
That green car is a 1953 Dannenhauer & Stauss.
There is only 9 of these cars known to exist. This one came from Switzerland and emigrated to Australia with its owner.
I think Keith Poole in SA had one that was sold a couple of years ago too.
Cool day, I wish I could have stayed longer.
It was a Danhauser Stauss Or Something like that and If i remember right when I chatted to the Owner last year sometime he told me that there are about 20 left Worldwide
I think it might be a D & S. (Danhauer and stauss, or v.similar,memory is foggy?!):P
There it goes again! 3 replies in 5mins.
