Just thought I'd let you know that I'm getting my bug on Saturday!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!

Kinda excited..... can't wait.....I'll post photos and whatnot of it as well......

Hey, just a quick question....can you buy original VW steering wheels.....the one that is in it at the moment is not an original......I want to replace it........

you're forgiven...I remember how i felt when i got my baja. Exactly like you. I was going up to my farm with my family except my Dad who had gone up a couple of days ahead. He had rung the day before to say that he had found a baja for sale in the trading post in NSW just over the border in the Darling Downs area and that he was gonna go have a look. So here i am sitting in the back of my parents twin cab ute at 7:00 at night ( it was winter and quite dark) as we were barreling along a dirt road to my farm. As we're going along a wide, open bend we see an oncomeing car and as the road is only wide enough for one way traffic we move onto the shoulder of the road. As the car passes us I hear the "BLAAAATTT!" of the car's exhaust as it goes past. Just as it passes it is lit up in the headlight of the ute and for a split second i see what looks like a retarded beetle with purple mud guards and bright green body blast past. Turns out that it was my Dad comeing out to meet us in the new baja he'd bought for me. When he went to see the guy on his farm about the it he noticed that he had several other beetles and loads of parts lying around, and as the guy was selling the stuff to get some money quick my Dad offered to take the lot off of his hands for the same price as what the baja was advertised for-$1200 bargin! My Dad bunged my baja and my brother's non-running baja on the back of a truck he'd brought and took them back up to my farm. The next day him and i were back grabbing the rest of the stuff including my sisters future superbug. So that's my story...i know exactly how you feel. Congratultions.:thumb

Welcome Kara! This is the best feeling! You should be able to track down a steering wheel without a problem. Once you've posted some pics, someone will be able to point you in the right year direction.

kool i rember when i first found my bus this guy at school was selling it and it was his dads and for like a week straight i couldnt stop talking to him about it( i think he thought i was crazy or something)

I am contemplating sleeping in it, but I want to be bright eyed and bushy tailed (worst phrase in history!!!!) to begin another hard days cleaning, polishing, driving and going around to friends places to show it off!!!!!

A mate brought me the coolest thing to hang from the rear veiw mirror (even though it's illegal now *sneaky grin*

Foor all of those who know Harry Potter......well I've been a fan since forever...of the books not the movies might I add.......and so my friend brought me the golden snitch to hang....and it's all gold and shiny and wow~ish *laughs* ahhhhh.........

Yeah, I've gone crazy this past week, don't think a week has ever gone so slooowwww!!!!!

About 1 year ago, i had a fight with my mum and it was really bad, i didn't want to stay at the house so i packed my bag and got in the bug.
I had no idea where i was going to but i decided to sleep in the back. I lasted 2.5 hours and then i drove back home and got into my bed.
Was so uncomfortable. I dont recommend it!!! Couldnt stretch at all.
