here here...
and this was a members ride that was posted recently with one...
Do these fold up or slide in or are they fixed?
generally they are fixed. makes you wonder how it is they get around on some of 'em...
the purple ute and that green ute are soooo smooth also that site 4 the checkerd bay i think its blubays.com doesnt work anyone know what the correct url is ??:bounce
I'm imagining that some sort of retractable step must be available for some of the more extremely pumped 4WD's, which might be adaptable to
a bus.
Might be interesting to search the web for a ready-made.
how many more ya want pyro?
would you believe this was an ambualnce an creative put the extra into it.
An interesting option found at:
http://www.kodiaksidewinder.com/
i read somewhere that deluxe bays had a retracting sidestep that swung out when u opened the sliding door. not sure about in australia?
ive seen retractable steps on vanagons. spose one could be adapted...
Mmmmm, I like the ex ambulance, and the duel cab:kiss
Some of the steps are so low that it makes you wonder how they go on a normal road with minor dips withoput doing some damage:o
ok now im going to get picky any pics of the steps up close ?? like how they mount ??
great pics by the way guys too :thumb
they simply (or not so simply) slide into the jacking points, and then a single (self tapping?) screw holds each end in place.
they're not a good idea if you have weak/rusty jacking points, also, if your jacking points have been replaced at some point it may not line up
so well.....
then theres the issue of clearing speed bumps and similar, i know for a fact that they took the step off the bluebays bus when they went on the ferry
to france.....
all food for thought:thumb
kai
good so i wasnt being crazy when i told my step dad (the person helping me build em) kool as so is there any pics of close ups os the steps ?......im still pondering some different designs for the parts that come out of the jack mounts......and yeh its all good my jack mounts pretty damn stright and original too :thumb:bounce
so no ones got any then ??
nah not around here, dont sell so they dont bring them in ...
that why im gonna have to make one because no onehas em it'll
just add to my custom-ness
