Type 3 is a Type 3

it had 3 different body styles Notch, Wagon and Fastback or if yr in america !/2, 3/4 or Full back versions.

there were 2 different model changes over the years.

They where also marketed as 1500, 1500S, 1500 Variant, 1600TL, 1600TLE and probably a few others! I think Australia was one of the only countries where the car actually carried a Type 3 badge (later models)

Just like the real name for a Beetle is a type 1, and the real name for a kombi is a type 2!

Think of it like surnames and given names. The surname or family is Type 3, the given name could be Notchback, or Fastback, or Squareback.
Just like the earlier thread said mate!
(Type 1, beetle; type 2, kombie...etc)
sorted.
