I can only do java gui and even that would take me a month. If I'm accessing databases thru java I use Access at uni or mySQL here at home. But for the java subject they are just basic statements with no joins or anything. mySQL is missing a lot of things. Like date. Like foreign keys. stupid.

For this database subject with the joins and nested queries I use the uni's Oracle server over the net which is a PITA.

Just cause i cant type, and teh has been accepted as a word these days anybody with puters know it cause were al too lazy to fix it up. STOP BAGING MY TYPEING:P

So reading the spec, you are going to have to run it in something. We are talking real SQM not MySql or Access SQL etc etc.

Nested Queries are cool, they make it very easy to follow the grouping side of things.

Bummer about the VB.net I was getting excited thought I could get out of VB.net

Have I missed something? Are you really meant to know about a particular pilot and which light he is on???? Then compute it all in algebra type thingy

Or do you make up all the flight stuff but have it come out as something that looks real?????

Jen I got no idea about the algebra stuff. Absolute none. I dont even know why it exists. Must have slept through those lectures.

The Structured Query Language stuff is about getting a computer to do all your cutting and pasting. Doing it yourself will work for my assignment but probably not for the Commonwealth bank who would have to search through millions of records to cut and paste.

I've got the basics of SQL sussed. I can do a lot of the medium to hard questions from the textbook, but almost none from this bloody assignment.

errr this is about MY assignment. I've checked my mail and there are no answers!

I still dont see any signatures, just red crosses.

The way I learned SQL was to use the Access WYSIWYG query editor in WYSIWYG mode and then read the SQL which it generated....

Of course, you wouldn't use shortcuts like this on an assignment...
