OG cheese grater yeah ?
before it could grate?

cool !

Man it's worth some money! Happich were period accessory makers, They were the one's who made the original chrome over brass, dual curve eye lids for Beetles, that flat four copied. not sure what it's worth. but it is an original, not a cheap copy!

:D It cant be that rare, it would look good on my oval, give you $50 :D

Grey 57 - October 26th, 2003 at 08:08 AM

That would look good on my oval Phat.
Nice pick up, bit rarer than the cheese grater style of exhaust connectors. :thumb

vwtyp2 - October 26th, 2003 at 08:20 PM

bugger, my oval has a single tip exhaust

BenettonVW - October 26th, 2003 at 09:00 PM

It's an exhaust tip connector for a Beetle. A german made accessory by Happich. There is a few variants, and yes, the cheese grater version is one of them. The main difference is that some of the cheese graters were labelled VW parts, but may have been made by Happich anyway. Eg. I had an original Cheese Grater on my Beetle that came in a different box to that, but would be very similar in quality.

Rhett, I can tell you what they are worth, but I thought I did so?

Unity-28 - October 27th, 2003 at 08:34 AM

Speaking of which, I might get some Oil dripper ones made!

N!

Saurus - October 27th, 2003 at 11:15 AM

I think you will find that your particular grater is rare as rocking horse dung.

Those ones were not made for that long because they didn't sell as good as the fluted model.

You can read about them at:
