Help me play around with number plate ideas!!!!
jenz58 - October 28th, 2003 at 12:56 PM

OK I just rang Vic Roads to find out about custom number plates:)

Bel is not on her original plates and has the newer blue and white ones, so I'd like to go back to black and white older style

BEL 58 is available for $415

If I add either a letter or number the price comes down to $310

I could go

BEL 158 (FOR TYPE1)

or I could do

VWT 158

This is the style/ old looking

I guess 3 letters and 3 numbers makes it look like a real number!!! What do you think??:)

There is always JENZ58 but who would want them is I did ever sell her??:(

Unity-28 - October 28th, 2003 at 01:06 PM

How about VWI-958

That way you have VW I (type 1 and the number 1 for the begining of the year!

N!

jenz58 - October 28th, 2003 at 01:48 PM

Hey N

I just rang motor reg

VWI 958

TYP 158

VWT 158

Are all due for future, general, release and I can get them now if I was happy to have them in the current standard colour and style:( Damn!!!!!!

VW 1958 has been taken

VLKS 58 is available

The guy was really helpful and tried to find Bel's original number for me but with no luck. She's had an engine change before I got her and then I changed her engine back to a 36 hp, but still not her original

I can see why it is such a plus if you can get all of the original paper work with the car when you buy it:thumb

HotRodMatt - October 28th, 2003 at 02:15 PM

VLK 558

Still looks like VLKS58 but cheaper

57kombi - October 28th, 2003 at 02:45 PM

how about
VUU 58

As in V double u 58
Cheers
Dave

65square - October 28th, 2003 at 03:37 PM

BUG 058??

sooty - October 28th, 2003 at 03:56 PM

I wanted to get KOM-81 unfortunately already taken :(

jenz58 - October 28th, 2003 at 05:08 PM

or BUG 158

I'm guessing that BEL 158 or BUG 158 have been issued some time ago as standard numbers. It's a matter of if they are available for me to buy

I'd like to go the black and white plates so ones like VLK 558 , cos it would come under the still to be issued category and have to be on standard type plates

Kara_11 - October 28th, 2003 at 05:18 PM

I rather like the whole VLK *insert numbers here*...... rather clever...... original papers would be cool....

I was impressed with my numbers when I got it. (I'm a big Harry Potter fan - the books not the movie!!!!) and my plates end with *note this is not personalized* HJP - Harry James Potter.....ok, well I was the only one who noticed but hey........

*laughs*

I like BUG 158.....but whatever you like......

Mr Bubble Head - October 28th, 2003 at 07:20 PM

I like the look of VWT 158 looks std but at second glance any veedubber would know

I've just changed the plates over on my bus this week to AVWBUS I've had them for a while but was lazy, cost me $315 at the motor show dont worry AVWBUG was gone would of been great to have the pair next to each other!

nIck

Grey 57 - October 28th, 2003 at 07:30 PM

JENZ58 sounds cool to me Jen.

What about GR8058

jenz58 - October 28th, 2003 at 08:30 PM

Dean what can I say!!!! :):kiss

I'd love JENZ58!!!!!!!!

But who else would?

but then again it would be there and is there for me:bounce :bounce

"OK, be positive Jen, you are not going to sell Bel!!!!! Ever!!!!!!":sandrine

*jenz looks around* Who said that????:D

oval TOFU - October 28th, 2003 at 08:31 PM

Jen, its only about $70 more for the less charactered plates... I'd say go for the dearer one! It looks heaps better too! Don't about selling her! Get in that dam sunroof and plan to keep her as long as you live!

on the other hand:

FIFTY8

and for anyone who is interested, I've seen a BMW X5 with the orig enamel plate 7 around Prahran and if that wasn't enough, later that day i saw a Benz S class (a phat one at that) with 3...that plate is worth more than W8 Passat i think!

BLING BLING

jenz58 - October 28th, 2003 at 09:20 PM

Nah, I want to keep her for sure:kiss

$70 isn't much in the long run. I just wanted feedback on it

But isn't it strange that the price drops $105 when you ADD a letter or number. Go figure????

BEL 58 $415

JENZ58 $310

:alien

Craig Torrens - October 28th, 2003 at 09:26 PM

I'm in NSW, I have VWH-00N :D
Just thought I would share this !!

My Pajero has XPL-00R, with the 00 being Zero's !

Sorry, back to Vic now:D

byronbus - October 28th, 2003 at 09:35 PM

My NSW '75 singlecab has VWY-OOT

I like VUU-058

My grandmother (Godbless her) gave me for my 21st BRU-51E...hmmm they are in storage, didnt want to get rid of them before she dies...

I have original plates on the oval, would prefer personalised but cant bring myslef to change them...

jenz58 - October 28th, 2003 at 09:52 PM

OK so if you wanted VUU 058 would you be happy with the standard plates (here, blue and white, with 'Victoria - the place to be' on them???)

That's my choice with these type of numbers cos they are gunna be issued stock/numbers:(

Can we guess you're name is

I want the black and white with just 'Victoria' underneath the number :sandrine

What a cute grandmother you have!!!! So can we assume your name is Br...?:)

Don't you love decyphering number plates????:bounce:bounce:bounce

11CAB - October 28th, 2003 at 10:00 PM

Jenz58 is definately the pic of the bunch :thumb

byronbus - October 28th, 2003 at 10:04 PM

I would be happy with the standard, they are cheaper and they look cool to have a groovy combination...in standard colours :thumb

jenz58 - October 28th, 2003 at 10:14 PM

Found myself checking out all the types of plates when I was on the road this arvo....

Decisions???

Well at least if I had JENZ58 maybe some people VW people might twig and give me the wave, or not;)

byronbus - October 28th, 2003 at 10:18 PM

VUU-058 is better than JENZ58 unless you want to take the plates with you when you sell the car...same with BEL anything...

And you get the excitment of new number plates with each new car

jenz58 - October 28th, 2003 at 10:33 PM

That's the prob with JENZ58 if I sell her then I possibly won't be getting another 58????

ande then do they become another thing that gets put in the back of a cupboard until you have a big cleanout :(

byronbus - October 28th, 2003 at 10:38 PM

Exactly, so go with the car options and sell the car with the plates... and maybe (probably not) in 20 years someone will pay $5k for VUU-058 for their restored 58 beetle or kombi...

VWY-00T forsale $2000, imagine that?

amazer - October 28th, 2003 at 10:44 PM

I'll add my vote to JENZ58.

The nsw rta website has a page where you can play around with number plates, different styles and check if they're available. They dont have something like that at vicroads?

jenz58 - October 28th, 2003 at 10:54 PM

Hey Amazer:)

No they don't have anything like that:jesus

I asked when I rang, but I did think I'd seen one a while back when I was playing around with ideas ?????

I'm going to go sleep on it all now:)

Night:sandrine

byronbus - October 28th, 2003 at 10:58 PM

Sweet dreams, all you will think about now is combinations...not like counting sheep

jenz58 - October 28th, 2003 at 10:59 PM

lol

Think I'll have a stiff drink first then:beer

DoNkEy - October 28th, 2003 at 11:35 PM

HER831
...but thats just cause i am a herbie fan!
beep beep!

DoNkEy - October 28th, 2003 at 11:37 PM

i mean
HER813
:D

jenz58 - October 29th, 2003 at 08:00 AM

I bet that one has been taken, but with three letters and 3 numbers it could have been issued to any old car, not a Herbie:(
