then you'll know how to keep ur VW alive ;)

fatboy - October 30th, 2003 at 03:28 PM

Its a superb book.

One of the on my list of "things to do"is to scan the book and make it a pdf so I can print out single sheets and get them oily instead of the book - could also search it as well.

...one day :)

vw54 - October 30th, 2003 at 05:14 PM

Yes I have a copy of the Cassette... must convert it to CD.

It makes interesting listening. John goes through all the typical engine noises of a Volkswagen.

Good engine rattlie tappets loose exhaust noisy wheel bearing etc etc

Jay_1965vw - October 30th, 2003 at 06:05 PM

Sounds great Dave! What a cool idea.

Chris: I'd forgotten about the John Muir Wav files... I remember setting them up in messenger LMAO

Black_math - October 30th, 2003 at 06:08 PM

Hey where coudl i get a copy of that book, or tape/cd ?

jenz58 - October 30th, 2003 at 06:46 PM

Get the book anyone who doesn't have it:thumb

It's the classic VW manual, a must have.

I always get it out when I'm looking something up

So does Muir make the engine sounds himself or are they recorded sounds????:)

OK, I know I ask some dumb questions, and this is one of them:D

HAHAHA

Jen people usually say that about me Jen... I make some strange sounds from my rear end sometimes... like everyone i suspect Its just that some dont admit it... I have a licence to do this.

Nope there real engine and car noises...

Robo - October 30th, 2003 at 07:26 PM

jenz58 - October 30th, 2003 at 07:41 PM

So what sounds are you after Rob????

Dave has given you two options:o

Hey, I've been told I snore but no one provides me with the tape evidence:D

Maybe we could do a compilation CD:rudolf

Quoll - October 31st, 2003 at 07:47 PM

dodge - November 3rd, 2003 at 11:34 PM

Black_math, I got mine from http://www.amazon.com.  Got it for bout $35 (I think!)

vw54 - November 4th, 2003 at 06:16 AM

Trying to convert it to CD now but the tape is playing up and dont want to run properly on side 2

Hbbear - November 4th, 2003 at 09:25 AM

The book (read BIBLE) is the most simplest car manual ever made! With NO experience on VW I felt confident enough to unbolt, drop and reinsert the motor of my buggy with my bible at my side, under the car. Any good VW repair shop should be selling it, I got mine from a dodgy looking VW repairer here in ACT.
