VWs in Futurama & the Simpsons
65square - November 6th, 2003 at 09:39 AM

It seems the creators of the simpsons & Futurama have a bit of a thing for VWs. I just bought the Season 3 Futurama DVDs & one episode focuses pretty heavily on a VW Bus (its drawn as a split/bay hybrid!) Also in the same episode a green flying New Beetle is seen in several scenes. (Much like the bug seen 400 times in the chase in Bullitt!!)

In the Simpsons, Marge's sisters drive a Thing. Pretty cool! They must know something of VW's to put a pretty obscure model like this in! I can also remember an episode where Nelson puts crap on a really tall guy driving a bug.

Anyone else think of any VW related moments in these shows??

Every episode of the Simpsons has a vw in it.

One that comes to mind is when Homer is re-united with his mum, at the end she get's picked up in a hippy painted splitty.:thumb
