As I voted!!!

Great for stopping stone chips but look ugly!!

You need to do a Zoro theme with the Notch for it to work!!!:thumb

wadd - November 8th, 2003 at 08:11 PM

hi are you allowed to cover up your number plate :)

robnjo - November 8th, 2003 at 08:24 PM

no I don't think so...but then again

Grey 57 - November 8th, 2003 at 08:33 PM

Practical , but not good Jim.

Zorro eh Jen , nice one LOL

Robo - November 8th, 2003 at 08:34 PM

May not look the coolest, but stone chips look worse, and if it save's your paint, it's worth it. how much did it cost? been thinking of getting one for the Kombi.
Rob.....

matara - November 8th, 2003 at 08:57 PM

Jim I'd rather get one of those big mesh bush guards that mount to the bumper. Not a bra man myself :P

decked dubby - November 8th, 2003 at 09:33 PM

Don't like it.

XXX-1.8T - November 8th, 2003 at 11:43 PM

dont like it either

why dont u get one of those old school mesh things that are attached to the bumper ;)

lugnuts - November 9th, 2003 at 12:50 AM

Nooooo, too much contrast can you dye it the same or similar colour.:o

jenz58 - November 9th, 2003 at 08:04 AM

The no's seem to have it at the moment

The contast in colour is huge, plus I don't think the bra suits the age of the notch

Ageed, one of those mesh stone guards would look way better:thumb

Jim you're a master at finding very cool old school accessories!!

Starbug - November 9th, 2003 at 08:45 AM

car bra car schma... not a good look on any car!

Mad Manx - November 9th, 2003 at 09:52 AM

Go the bra if its possible to colour code it mate- other wise ditch it.... no point in hiding a classic car:bounce unless it complements it!

Herbie - November 9th, 2003 at 09:58 AM

I wear my stone chips with pride.

Tazz - November 9th, 2003 at 10:16 AM

They do what they are sposed to do...

You can always take it off when you get to where your going.

Tazz.

SKEWtYpe3 - November 9th, 2003 at 11:25 AM

how long do these take to put on/off

always wondered

:thumb

Tazz - November 9th, 2003 at 01:21 PM

Bout 5 mins.....

I have put wingnuts on the numberplate.
Thats the hardest part...

Tazz

twoguns - November 9th, 2003 at 01:28 PM

sorry mate. but they are crap and very ugly.

if ya want that ya might as well come out and be a pansie and just trailer the thing every where.

:repuke:repuke:repuke

amazer - November 9th, 2003 at 03:33 PM

interesting percentages.
who's doing the maths around here.

if you go with the bra, make sure it doesnt build up moisture behind it. A mate of mine had the front of his car blister up.

PurpleT3 - November 9th, 2003 at 04:51 PM

Seems a waste to have a car that looks that good and put something that ugly on it, spoils the whole look. I reckon I'd only fit one if I was planning on selling it real soon and just want to keep it nice till then.

helbus - November 9th, 2003 at 06:09 PM

They have their purpose. I have one for the EH and only put it on when driving at dusk, as I hate cleaning bugs off the front of my car more than I hate stonechips.
Generally I would only put in on once a year on average.
I also wear stonechips with pride. They are considered trophies in their own right. :D

There's always the option of painting your car over with a clearcoat designed for the signwriting industry... Armour Coat I think it's called, made for overcoating vinyl or painted ground level billboards. It's clear, glossy, is almost impossible to scratch, can be scrubbed with thinners or other solvents to remove graphiti of any kind, and is also designed to stop damage from thrown rocks and bricks... Might just give you some serious protection and some extra shine to boot. Cost's a bit though.:bounce

david - November 9th, 2003 at 07:42 PM

why not put a nice black g string on the back to match your bra jim i tell you what might look good ,go through the posts on vintagebus.com and you will find a bra on a splitty with a checker pattern that looked real cool you could paint it on with pvc paint or screen printers vinyl ink try it on photo shop

BenettonVW - November 9th, 2003 at 08:06 PM

Just thinking about that a few minutes ago actually..

Shani - November 9th, 2003 at 08:08 PM

I'm with the not good set. They are very practical and save your paint but they look awful on the car.
Mind you as Tazz said, you can take them off when you get where you are going.....

pyr0 - November 9th, 2003 at 09:00 PM

they are kool when dyed but im not a fan of the black....although i do think that one of the old school mesh guards would look cool :thumb

manxed69 - November 9th, 2003 at 09:03 PM

Ugly. It would be OK if it was colour coded to match the paint work as it wouldn't stand out like a sore thumb.

When I first got my buggy I was horrified to find some stone chips starting on the fibre glass nose. These are not repairable as my buggy isn't painted. I made a stone guard from perplex so that it couldn't be seen. It all so doubles as a number plate bracket. Can you see it in my photo?
