i have just bought my first vintage bike and i am wanting to find out more about it. i bought it because i liked the look of the seat and thought i
coulkd use the gurds on my cruiser, then i got it home... it is a Magneet, and to the best of my researching capabilities made in Ampsterdam in the
late 1920s. it is completely original, the chrome is still good on the rims (28 inch), the rear hub is a single speed back-pedal brake by Favorit,
the frame is perfect and still has some original paint on it (has been painted over but some pinstriping still there) handlebars, pedals, rear wheel
lock, guards, tail-light all bear the Magneet name, spokes and front hub also have a symbol that i believe may be Magneet. there is nothing missing
from this bike (except maybe a chain guard).
i am hoping someone on here knows somehting about these bikes or can help me find some information. i would also be interested to know the value of
it. one bike person i know offered me $1000 for it thinking that it was a different one, so i am just wondering what it is worth?
sounds interesting got a pic?
cheers

No info for you, but it looks cool.
have you tried doing a web search???
tried the web, all i found was a 1927 catalogue in dutch, i got a rough translation but thats it.
I have just posted a link to my bro in NZ, he collects vintage bikes, he will most likely know. :thumb
