thanks jen. i knew you'd know :P

jenz58 - December 1st, 2003 at 10:40 PM

Now you are really messing with peoples heads.....two very similar titles sitting next to each other..

So how's work going??? Finish at the call centre?

Have the week off....spent the day going nowwhere for a change:cool: Didn't turn one engine over....:o

zac_smits - December 1st, 2003 at 10:43 PM

yeh i quit telemarketing (i stopped turning up for work) and now i work at joes on shannon...a restaurant. it's a lot better

the golf has had it's service, and has had it's brake pads and discs changed, and it is tuned slightly differently now for 'extra performance';)
i just love double clutching on L's :):):)

jenz58 - December 1st, 2003 at 11:28 PM

Cool!!!:thumb

Sounds like our rides have been getting some pampering...:)

Bel has just had her shockers changed for the first time ever....can I notice the difference...

Dr L has had some tuning done and he is moving along so well now...

I must go get some temp door trims for Bel, her interior handles keep falling off as I drive along....the winders are pretty much on the floor permanently now...worried about chipping the paint on her seat runners every time they drop...

Robo - December 2nd, 2003 at 06:45 AM

Jenz
Sounds like Bel is comming along nicely give us a bit of a run down on whats been done.
Hows your co pilot Bob doing these days?
Rob.....

Robo - December 2nd, 2003 at 07:06 AM

I think this one is the the better thread, to many PPL have jumped into the other one! this one is mostly the original PPl
Rob...

jenz58 - December 2nd, 2003 at 09:29 AM

Sounds good to me...join forces:thumb

I know we are one or two members down from our 'Have a go.....' thread...Not sure if it is a permanent thing :(

Bel's waiting to be painted....getting confused about where to take her...Just know I want a good job done...take her back to metal, no short cuts...but best price so I don't break the bank...

Think I need to find a 58 hood for her....someone mentioned it to me once...the one she has has got the round VW badge on top of her hood....pretty sure she's not meant to have one.....They don't have her year in the catalogs:o

Robo - December 2nd, 2003 at 09:48 AM

I think 58's had the badge, but it was the one's you had to bend the tab's on, they were made out of pressed aluminium
The newer one's had spike's that pushed into plastic bungs, and were cast alloy that was chromed.
Rob....

zac_smits - December 2nd, 2003 at 12:50 PM

has anyone heard of a volkswagen tourer? my uncle has one in his carport that he bought a while ago. it's a ragtop, white, has huge guards, and as my dad was telling me, it's definately not standard. i'll have to try get some photos from him. it's an interesting car.

splittychick - December 2nd, 2003 at 03:32 PM

Heh y'all.........so good to be back.

Heh Jen my kombi just had a tune & new shockers put in as well it feels like a different car,no more clanging coming from the back area.it use to sound like there were some coke bottles rattling around back there.I also got a new exhaust....WOW....i keep expecting the backfiring but it doesn't happen.Amazing how use to a wrong sound you get that it begins to sound normal.you use to be able to hear me coming a mile away but no more.....................shes purring like a kitten.
I got Anth to come around & check out my splitty to see what panels/rusty bits need replacing so now i can order them & so the major parts of the restoration can begin.I'm very anxious to get it under way.
Jen are you going to the Christmas party on Sunday??????I've got someone to cover the market for me so we'll be there:D
Heh Zac,the tourer may be a modified type 3 as thats what our convertible fasty says on its rego???Just a thought!Look forward to seeing some photos.:thumb

Hope everyones well...........cya;)

Make sure ya have plenty of money on ya when your navigating the Sydney "TOLL" road network, a lot easier to get around nowdays, but it come's at a price!

jenz58 - December 3rd, 2003 at 08:14 AM

Just VVW really....

Maybe Pendle Hill out of curiousity....remember the pics someone posted ages ago...

Robo - December 3rd, 2003 at 08:24 AM

Vintage Vee Dubs at Campsie is a good place to check out.
Volksbahn, was one of my local shops when I still lived in Sydney, lots of good stuff and nice PPL, still have my discount card!
If your after second hand stuff, there was another place at Riverstone, AP spares.
HM Ferman are impoters of VW stuff, their at 95-105 Boundary Rd Peakhurst.
Rob...

jenz58 - December 3rd, 2003 at 08:30 AM

Thanks Rob...

Is the place in Riverstone the one in 'Buying, Swapping and Selling'?

Robo - December 3rd, 2003 at 08:33 AM

Don't know, you would have to look them up in the Sydney yellow pages.
Rob...
