This may be a long shot but...
Do you recognise this bus???
Is this a trick question?
those zebra stripes on the front bumper are quite common in byron?
maybe whoever sold it to him bought it in byron?
theres a guy on the gold coast selling kombi's to the uk?http://coasttocoastkombis.com/
marcel
:sandrine
I was told that the zebra stipes stickers were a fund raising thing through a
local school here.....
yuk....even though its for charity, not on my bug
Judy
has it been sent over here or was it sent there??
##zebra## stickers or not, that would be a very cool bus:thumb
Just found out that one of my old splits is headed to the UK...not to happy
so what happened? the buyer sold it os or was he/she a dealer sending them overseas?
marcel
Sold my 67 Kombi to a guy who bugged me for ages to have it, his brother has a twin cab split so thought it was in good hands...then he went and sold
it to a dealer who sends them to the UK, not happy, I would have bought it back or found someone that wanted it...
Sorry guys didn't know you were posting... must check my profile..
It was a bus from Byron Bay..
The guy I bought it from travelled Aus a few years back and liked the bus so much he exported it to the UK.
After a year of having it he sold it on to me, i'm merely trying to find out if anyone knows anything about the bus..
It belonged to a guy who ran a Bamboo Furniture Co. called Byron Bamboo.
Saw your username on here and it got me wondering???
Yeah I know him well, what info do you want?
Any additional History would be greatly received, all I know about this bus is that it spent most of its life being used as a van for his bamboo
furniture business.
Just wondered if there was anything else thats happened to the bus that I dont know about???
Cheers for replying
No worries, I'll see what I can find out :thumb
Hey Deano,
That was me and my brother that travelled around oz in it and sent it to England. You bought it from my brother.
How is the old girl? She was a cool bus, 20,000 miles around oz with the only problems being 1 blow out and a snapped speedo cable. Wish we'd
left it in oz now as I live in Adelaide now, Bugga!
We bought it in Byron from a guy called Brian, who now drives a v.nice single cab split same type of paint job but red instead of blue.
Hope you have as much fun with her as we did.
Cheers Dave
Hey Dave :bounce:bounce:bounce:bounce
I remember you ... you had a nice straight Red and Blue 66 Microbus..
The old bugger looks a bit different now.. unfortunately the paint didn't like the british climate and decided to bubble up on me a bit so I have
done a full resto on it.. finished about 2 years ago. no sporting a 2007cc 120bhp motor, IRS, funky diner interior, fully trimmed inside and out.
Remember me saying I was gonna spray it purple and white... well I did!!!
Hope you like
Nice work...:thumb
Yep that was me! both vans went on the same day.
She looks great but I must admit I prefere the double door, well cool.
wow. such a small world!
