a friend wants to send a toyota 4 wd back to england ,does any one have a clue on what the cost involed in doing this at all

Best bet would be to call a customs broker. They handle all the legal and shipping for you. They should have them in Albury too.

have a look at www.apl.com you should find contact details for the australian offices.

they are a shipping company, not a broker.. you may do a little more paperwork yourself but will save you money.

you can ship a car in a container, or RORO (Roll on, roll off). RORO is cheaper because you don't have the container handling charges at both ends. Containers work out cheaper if you are shipping more than one car, or a bunch of other things as well.

we shipped a kombi to england recently and the all up cost was about $3,000. The guy who bought the kombi arranged everything from his end as it worked out cheaper. Is your mate already in the UK?
