Has anyone had any experience getting rid of the smell that comes from the interior of a lot of beetles ( and possibly other models)? The smell sticks to your clothes and it's turning my wife off getting in the dub anymore. Does anyone know if it's the insulation, glue or material that does this? I don't really want to have to redo the whole interior but surely there's some way to get rid of it.
You don't like that smell? Part of it is from the petrol tank in the front mixed with the glue, material, horse hair & carpets.
My interior was completely redone - new headlining, seat and door covers - but the smell eventually came back.
I think u will find its the horse hair in the seat upholestry.... you carnt get rid of it.
Just carry a can of pine air spray and give it a dose every time you get in the car.
and leave the windows undone slightly
Also make sure your car isnt leaking.
Water sometimes comes down the front and wets the fllor mats under the carpet.
Seems dry on top but wet underneath.
