I have heard on more than one occasion that there is a guy at Volkwerke? in Greensborough that is a guru with the old Volksy box's

This must be a major problem as I was told by someone who works for a VW place here in perth to send over east to get my box re done.

Here is my 2 bob's worth,

Go and have a chat with Lloyd form VOLKSWERKE (03 94351868) 171 Para Rd, Greensborough.

The guy is a total gentleman and will not stuff ya around; he is black and white-no gray! He is up front and if he can't fix it he will tell you who can!

I have had dealings with him when I was living at Watsonia. (VW Australia send them their broken gearboxes from the current series of golfs for him to fix......) So in my opinion he must be on the ball.

When ya see him say Mick Hall sends his regards.

Cheers

The VW gearboxes arent like the engines, it seems anybody will have a try at building the engines, but you need a bunch of specialised tools to do the gearboxes, and also the knowledge to put them back together. :thumb

Yeah, I reckon. :thumb
I remember watching my Dad putting together a 'box he'd built in our kitchen, when I was young. Thought it looked easy (aside from a bunch of what looked like measuring), so tore a scrapped one apart the next day. Totally different ball game.
