speed in 68 beetle

a good mate of mine has a 68 beetle that tops out at 110kph is this the motor or the diff that is stoping the car ? it is a 1600cc twin port :jesus

hmm, my 1200 62 beetle has done 110.

Dunno if that helps, I imagine it should be going faster, (your friends that is)

Its the MOTOR,my 1300sp did 125kph and it was knackered,check the points and timing.:(
