a midi file is a music file that uses different instuments to emulate the normal tune......and generally they just sound crap and i think if u convert the sound it will sound nothin like an engine but if u are still interested i take it u want it for a website check http://www.download.com  they usually hav stuff like that there for free

a midi file contains no sound. It just contains information tells a midi instrument (such as a keyboard) what note to play, how hard to play it, how long to hold it for, pedal down or up etc... You could sample (record) a VW engine with a sampling keyboard and then get a midi file to play back the note that you assigned that sound to, but what I think you really need is an MP3 of a recording of a VW. How BLOODY complicated. Hook up your ignition to your phone so that whenever the phone rings it starts your car. THAT would be easier...

I do have VW engine sound files but don't know if I can attach it on this forum. Once I put it in my computer and as soon as the Windows started you can hear the VW engine starting. I'll try as soon as I get home. Cheers. Nino

Here's a file of vw engine starting but not in midi file but .wav, sounds like a beetle with engle 110.
It's an old one found it on internet about 7 years ago. Give it a go.
