Unfortunately, the date conflicts with my niece being baptised and her parents unwisely choosing me as the god father.

At least they chose badly for both god parents - the god mother is an atheist as well.

I'll be thinking of you all whilst I'm sequestered away in a church!

We are going to go thru this soon. My wife wants our son Baptised and god-parents....

How does an athiest make a vow at a christening when I will strive to keep him OUT of the churches' influence...

Yeah, I hate it. My brother and his wife and just doing the suburbia checklist - married in a church with a white dress - tick. Bought house - tick. Two dogs and several fish - tick. Have baby - tick. Baptise baby - ...

They're not even religious. Out of all the parents only my mum would care. Don't worry, I will be a good corrupting influence, and my brother's and sister in law's lack of church attendance should produce another healthy agnostic at least.

But I am allowed to be the fairy god father, so I'm going to wear a dark colored suit, put in cotton balls in my mouth and wear fairy wings, I think.

Only went there for the day, today. Was pretty mad! Caught the flame comps and everything. Forgot the camera tho. D'OH! Had some rockabilly bands, not my thing, but beats DOOF DOOF, hey? ;)
Apparently yesterday was the day to go. But we were both busy, so could'nt make it. They had the biggest turnout of cars ever. And today was looking to be bigger. But unfortunately the poor weather turned plenty of people away.
My mate took his digi', I'll see if he's got some pics at his online album :cool:
