Checker Plate Flooring

i need a new floorpan for my 71 super and i was thinking of getting some checker plate flooring welded in (cause it will look cool):D....is this legal? and will it not be too difficult.....its not registered and i dont want to find out its not cool when i got for rego

I'd imagine you need to get it authorised by an Engineer who would check that it is secured properly.

As far as I know you cant get checker plate as thin as the original floors so if it is welded in correctly it will be stronger than original.

yeh thats interesting to know......if i get it done ill get it done properly ....ill inquire with someone i know who does roadworthysand see what he says but as long as its sound and solid i cant see why they would object to it
