Dark Brown as well

My mates 54 is done that colour

He had it made up and calls in Tabbocco Brown.

There have been several cars in VW Trends that look like that colour. I haven't been able to find a paint code in the articles though, sorry.

They have just called them "chocolate".

BenettonVW - January 4th, 2004 at 07:35 PM

Well, knowing that that car is original paint, it can only be a few...

I am guessing it is - L73 Chesnut Brown(1951-53).
Alternatively it could be:
- L76 Brown Beige (1949-50)
- L70 Medium Brown (1949-53)

If I was a betting man I would say Chesnut..

ha, i knew thered be a smart ass answering this:D
its the same beetle in the narrowed beam video that was on here the past few weeks, i think its a 50 model. maybe the german folks would know.
chestnut brown sounds about right though.
thanks guys

Its a totally differant chestnut brown than the one used on split screen vans, this brown is a lot lighter.
Cheers
Dave

then maybe it isnt chestnut, maybe its one of the other two?

57kombi - January 4th, 2004 at 10:37 PM

I cant see vw having 2 chestnut browns.
Just look at any sealing wax red and chestnut brown deluxe van and you can see the van is a lot darker.

VWFOOL - January 4th, 2004 at 10:51 PM

It would be like saying

"NOS for sale"

would that be 'New Old Stock'

or 'Nitrous Oxide (NOS)'

Maybe not so much on this forum, but on some others 'New Old Stock' is not relevant and 'Nitrous Oxide' is

Something to think about?

I'm going to play with my T2 now. :D

Unity-28 - January 6th, 2004 at 09:31 AM
