saw a very early convertabile bug in a garage in cork, ireland about 8 years ago. it had never been put on the road and still had the factory 4 miles on the clock.

The man i spoke to said his father got it when he owned the garage for his wife but for some reason(i forget)they never used it. When i spoke to him about it his best offer he had had was 40 thousand pound (about 100 thousand dollars) but he woulnd't sell as it was sentimental.

I am guessing by now he would have sold and for a whole load more that that as it is a brand new car and would have to reg'd as so..

steff......

i think that kdf bug is worth every cent.I know somebody from germany who bought a 1942(i think)Kommandurewagen about 8 years ago from czeckoslovakia for 3000 DM in fair condition.these pre 45 bugs are almost never offered for sale though.

I forget the guys name but, there is a guy in california who owns some pre 55 vert that is on BRM's. its brown and tan 2 tone,,, anyways, From what I hear, he reciently bought a 48 convertable for somewhere around 50,000 USD. Thats a bit of money huh. Carlos Guzman who own the green 49 split in california, Told me that it woulod be impossible for him to ever put a price on his car. But I think between 60 and 70 grand would buy it.
As for the aforementioned ghia, it never sold, it was on ebay and was treated like a joke.

Yeah, that Dahlback golf is awesome! The rare body parts on it suprised me too. Pure race car. But I'd much rather a Carrera GT if I was going for that much $$$
