On Sat , I stand to do the first VW pass down the New WSID.
western Sydney International Dragway.
It may even be the first 4 Cylinder .
the only down point being the speedlimit applied because "no Ambulance on site"
um ah well 60 km/h...
But still the first pass with lights / timing functioning.
They need to simulate a car exploding mid track.....knowing my luck they will " pick on the VW " and get me to stop and run from the car
while they run over and bump fire extinguishers against it.
It may not be their choice your car is the exploding one
well blower is not fitted yet,
and my de-tuned Pobjoy 1916 has done
thousands of " thrashed miles"
the gearbox is sadly another story
Just out of interest -for us bush folk- where is the strip located?
Roger.

The summer nats will be the best event to see all the top cars. Yes the Top Fuel will be there.
I had a look around this arvo
Saw Glenn Yes looks like he is the first one to drive a VW down the strip.
this is the best Drag strip in the World.!
The first car to run down the New Strip was a 1957 Oval Beetle.
Two officials are VW fans (Macca & Glenn)
I saw Dave and the Driver for Vintage VwDrag Car there to look around.
- What did you think of it Dave???????

now this is going to be Professionally Prepared Track.
So Lots Of Traction.!
It has everything state of the art- the timing system / the media set up / the
track finish...etc
there is still development work to make it family oriented and Corporate featured .
Pushed Jack down the track yesterday in his pram!
