Three things I really love about driving a bus:
1. Speed bumps. Really big ones. The nastier the better! I love watching
all the $30,000 SUV drivers slow down to a crawl to go over them while I hit
them at 20 MPH and barely notice them.
2. Pulling up to a brick wall or an overhang with a front-seat passenger
who's not used to being in a bus. If you haven't done this, I highly
recommend it!
3. Fish-tailing in a snowy parking lot. There's no other vehicle on the
road that feels quite like a bus when you get the backend hung out good.
Must have to do with sitting right over the front wheels, but it makes for a
really unique sensation.
My 3:
- long distance travelling. Never been in any vehicle that leaves you so refreshed after 12hrs driving like a VW bus!
- Camping. Anywhere, any time, any conditions. Cool.
- Mateship. You always have friends and heaps of friendly waves when you travel in a bus :-).
And to think I actually considered a few jap vans before getting hooked on VW's (shiver)

I totally agree with the overhangs comment. Pasengers freak out if you take them through an indoor shopping centre car park

my kombi bottoms out on speed humps ( slightly bigger than bumps), and it's not even lowered.
I love the way when the family starts groovin to some music the kombi kinda bounces up and down....certainly gets a few looks
well get this.....
I love how I shed kilos when I drive my kombi long distance, ever heard of that?? Well its a fact, pretty good considering your sitting on yer ass
for hours no end and eat take away junk food,,,work that out.
I love the fact that you can drive for hours and not be bored where as when ive driven other brands, its totally boring and Im just grateful to get to
destinations as soon as possible.
Like above I love the fact that fellow vw drivers all give a friendly wave.... and i love the fact that i can just walk to the back seat to give one
of the kids a wack with barely no effort but to undo the seatbelt...you can also throw light things at them without ripping your interior. No space
restrictions .

The perve, I've seen some interesting sights looking down into cars.......
The long lost rello's that wave to me.
& the 17" ground clearance does sort of make a mockery of speed humps....
for a real freak-out for passengers drive up to the back of a truck at traffic lights. garbage trucks and cranes work well.
Speed Bumps..... 
they serve there purpose you just can't go fast over them in a lowered bus
Driving up to the car in front or a wall....
Getting the A$$ end out in a 
nothing else like way cool

'V' is for versatility
We can use it as an 8 seater to drag a bunch of people around
We can take the seat out and move junk around or pick up a new tallboy, or to move house.
We can go on holidays with the back seat folded down into a bed.
We can go to the drive in and lay in the back with the tail gate open.
Or just cruise around being cool.

I love the feeling of the wave to kombi's cruising along towards me & their friendly wave back & smile.

All of the above, but the thing I really like the most of the reaction of passengers when I lift the inside rear wheel going round corners!!

a nightmare for road worthy...cant win em all. Get one perfect theres allways another waiting

I had my 74 down the snow for a season and one day it snowed a good foot and a half.
The best bit about the old girl was that with chains on we were travelling at 70 kliks in snow deep enough to be hitting the pan under the front of
the bus... soo much fun and the safest ive ever felt in the snow... just turn a little b4 the corner and let the snow pack up and push u round.
OH VOT A FEELIN!!!!! I love the chuckle I get when we come across non believers in their overweight 4wd's on so called "4WD ONLY" tracks. yeah baby.

Is it just me or do other people get less tired driving their busses than other cars. I have been commuting (~60km) in my wifes korean car for the
last few weeks and always get sleepy on the way home. Today I took the bus and didnt get tired at all.
I love that!

(but what I don't like is fearing for my legs if the brakes go and the losing the engine if some dick is tailgating)
1. Getting all 4 wheels off the ground going over big speed bumps to fast.
2. Taking my Ugly Beast around the dirt track after heaps of rain... Sideways in a kombie is kinda scary though :jesus.
3. Going places cars can't go.
