Pornographic Pop ups
Casper - February 2nd, 2004 at 06:23 PM

:repuke:repuke Is anyone else revolted by the Sex passport pop up site that automatically opens when I open the Vee Dubbers site. Someone told me that these people pay money to sites such as this to have their disgusting sites viewed. Pam

Do not know what is going on there but I am not getting anything like that.

fetid_swamp - February 2nd, 2004 at 06:32 PM

never has happened to us...

your computer must be hosting some spy program.

use adaware to check it out & do a virus scan as well just to be sure.

I do not get it as well

adware is free

or spybot is free

both good

Doesn't happen to me either. Could you let us all know how to access the sex passport so we can judge for ourselves if we will be revolted.

The forum will definitely not open pornographic pop-up ads, or any pop-ups for that matter.

The others are correct, you must have some kind of spy/ad program installed that you are not aware of.

think its just you. download ad-aware or somehting like that and run it, hopefully u will get rid of the problem.

I think you will find that a site you have looked at has put a program in your Computer. These programs bring on the Adds some how.
:)

I had some Bitch called Joanna poping up and trying to Screw me. When I got Spy ware protection she pissed off.

Try this

Looks like someone may have been surfing at some sites they should not have........might want to go and scan the system as stated above.
A way to find your cookies is: go to internet explorer/tool/internet options/general tab(settings), click on the settings. Click on the view file: then look for any document ending in .TXT (They should look like this. (cookie: [your username]@webpage name here)

You can also see when they were last accesssed/updated and loaded onto your system. By useing the times you can use this as a start point as to WHO was at home surfing at the given times.

Cheers

Kombiluva

Unfortunatley once a pc has been infected like this it will be full of cookies from every site that has ever popped up.

These progs can be installed in a number of ways and depending on your security settings you may not even have had any prompts about it - I mostly see them installed from crack sites - er no not that type, the the type of site where you get serial numbers and cracks for pirate software or download pirate software.

I can tell you now we will NEVER run pop up ads, nor would we advertise pr0n sites.

In fact, a company that is not VW related would find it tricky to advertise with us.

Please go here:
http://www.lavasoft.de

Get yourself Adaware, and remove the spyware on your PC.

if the admins said this three times could we take it as done that you will, a la Johnny Howard et al?

Starbug - February 2nd, 2004 at 11:29 PM

Im not getting it either. someone has been surfing sites on your computer unawares to you! track them down and smile schemingly! hehehe

the internet is full of porn, Its best not to get too phased by it. of course there are people out there who arent revolted by porn but are revolted by veedubs, so each to their own, hey?:)

daisy - February 3rd, 2004 at 08:18 AM

we have never had that porn thing happen on our pc either .

Casper - February 3rd, 2004 at 06:04 PM

Thankyou for the adware site. I have installed this on the computer and run the scan through and apparently found about 57 items which have been removed. As I am the only one to have access to the computer as I keep it in a locked desk and the keys with me I can only assume it has come from some other site I have looked at (non-pornographic). It just shows how easily it can happen. So far this time no-pop ups, :bounce. thanks to all for the advice. Pam
