VW Meet: Dee Why - Palm Beach?
Claudia - February 3rd, 2004 at 08:17 PM

Since Christmas last year I have been very busy and not found any time to log on to the http://www.aussieveedubbers.com

But I am back now and I would like to organise a VW meet sometime. I am from the Northern Beaches and it would be cool if we could start maybe in Dee Why and then drive to Palm beach?

Last year I tried to organise a meeting like this before christmas, but everybody was busy and I ended up .....doing nothing :(

Who would be interested to come on Saturday 21 February? Or would Saturday 14 Feb. be better? klienclaudia@hotmail.com

Hope to finally meet some VW owners and perve on some nice cars! :D

Claudia, 30, Northern Beaches, VW Beetle 1966

Claudia - February 9th, 2004 at 07:18 PM

It seems that it is never the right time to have a meeting. There is always something else on:(. I wish I could go to Newcastle to the VW show, but I do not trust my VW Beetle that much.

I forgot about Valentines day, you go and spoil your fiancee Craig! (my blinkers are still not working:repuke).

KOM123, I cannot on Sat. the 21st of, because I just got tickets for the David Bowie concert...finally get to see the guy with the two different eye colours!

I will think of another day to meet....maybe 2 years in advance? Just kidding. Am sure I can meet some of you guys sometime.

ciao,
Claudia

I have seen Bowie before to and you should have a great time :) You could always have a morning cruise finishing at or just before lunch and squeeze two events in on one day :)

Dannyboy - February 9th, 2004 at 07:57 PM

i wouldn't mind a cruise up to the coast to watch the waves sometime , Sundays are better as i'm working most Saturdays. Nice place to chill out for an hour or two and catch up with a few more dubs. Can we come play?

Danny and his 67

crazyfiggi - February 9th, 2004 at 08:05 PM

i'm good for just about any weekend too.
we just need to find one day when a few people are available, once we've had the first cruise i'm sure we could make it a regular thing :D

are we still thinking of stopping off at the newport arms?

Oasis - February 10th, 2004 at 01:10 AM

Sunday 15th in the morning is good for me. We only need 4 or 5 (or less) to have fun. And beer at Newport Arms...

Claudia - February 10th, 2004 at 08:40 PM

:bounce Cool, looks like some people are interested! Here the details:

We meet on Sun 22 Feb at 11am
at the parking area at Long Reef
(up the little hill, just where you park the car if you want to go for a walk out to the lookout)

I totally agree, it is ok if we are only 4 or 5 cars. We can drive to Palm Beach, have a look at the waves there and a take away coffee....and then we can go to New Port Arms for some beers or food.

Who will be able to join?

Regards,
Claudia
(Collaroy Plateau, white VW Beetle 1966)

I will of course check this webpage as often as I can too.

HotRodMatt - February 13th, 2004 at 11:13 AM

May have another bug with me , mate from work , nice 63 cal.

Danny

Claudia - February 13th, 2004 at 09:14 PM

:bounce Here are some more details (street) for the people who were asking.

We meet on Sunday 22 Feb at 11 am at Collaroy Basin Carpark at Long Reef, just near the Long Reef Golf Course Club house.

Any further questions? :puke

See you there.

Claudia

waltermitty - February 13th, 2004 at 10:22 PM

This carpark (as with most on the beaches ) requires a ticket but if you are staying with your car (as you will) then dont worry about buying one , just as long as you dont leave it then the rangers are OK (and infrequent).

Ha :D

Considering I had my first shandy at age four, Amy is just the right to start out! :beer

waltermitty - February 14th, 2004 at 08:47 PM

Hey Claudia perhaps the cruise should end at the Newport Arms? It now boasts the biggest beer garden in Australia not to mention one of the best locations. It also is very kiddy friendly for those with littleuns.Mitchell

Kai.A. - February 14th, 2004 at 10:29 PM

i've already suggested that... but my thinking is, we're cruising up to palm beach, ya can't go any further than that in a car, so we will have to drive back past the newy (ish)..... and who's gonna drive past without stopping for a bit:bounce
