Man! that road rocks!

It needs to be done on a motorbike though to really get the best.

(pulls nomex undies over head)

:D:D:D

I would be keen but because its so far away for me I wouldn't be likely to do it again unless I was in the area already, but its just an awesome road and I can thouroughly recomend the Cafe One 5 Three, which is at 153 Great ocean road Apollo Bay, although the menu looks a bit expensive when you first see it, the food more than makes it worth the effort.
It would make a good target point for a cruise.
I would recommend this day out whole heartedly.
Cheers Tony

Totally agree... I went for a blast up to Kennet River (about 20ks short of Apollo Bay) and back in one night... Even if you have drum brakes like I do, you can still take it at a decent clip coz its not really that hilly compared to Mt Dandenong anyways.... snigger...

I'd love to go for a blast/cruise when my oval's back and running...

years ago i did it on my pushie!!

Was heading west so the drop was on my side!
Quite windy at times.

Lived in my tent for 6 months

Blue...you'v got balls!

Bizarre - February 4th, 2004 at 10:43 AM

twas a blast!

cycled from Sydney to Adelaide via the coast.
Hitched across the Nullabor to Esperence and cycled into perth.
Hitched home via Darwin

Sat for 3 days at 3 Ways waiting for a lift. Saw 3 cars in 3 days :(

Biggest regret was not cycling across the Nullabor. Would have been easy i reckon :D

I did the Great Sub-Ocean Road on my Ducati. great road except for the falling rocks and permanent freezing rain.

Mind you, it started raining at Wodonga, and didnt stop until Mt Gambier. NSW might get more rain per annum, but it seems to me that Vic stretches that rainfall to last all year whereas NSW gets it all in 4 hours :P

blutopless2 - February 4th, 2004 at 11:42 AM

would definitely be interested in cruising down this road with other veedubbers. Organise the date etc and I'll be there.

Oppressa - February 4th, 2004 at 12:49 PM

Was just down there with some friends but without my car. We're planning on going down in Jan 2005 so I'm definately going to take mine down then! :D

oval TOFU - February 5th, 2004 at 08:35 AM

perhaps the ppl from Melbourne can meet you halfway then... :)

kOMBI KARMA - February 5th, 2004 at 02:22 PM

Its not so bad for me cause im near warrnambool and at the end of the day dont have to travel home..but the others would have to get back to melb way.....not unless we do it on a saturday and everyone camps over at my joint and we party, then they break their trip and travel home sunday.
Just an idea, plenty of camp and car spaces at my place.
cheers
