check out the fibre glass mod on hte bays and the window conversion on the split. not sure if the split is 'shopped or not.
some one was asking about the split conversion a little while back.
They are not photo shopped.
They are from a company called Baysplits, they advertise in Volks world.
Cheers
Dave
yeah i know the bays are not chopped. i have seen these fibreglass kits first hand when i was in england a few years back. not too sure about the split with the bay forn window though. looks authentic. s'pose it is the same principle as the oval rear window conversions for the split window bugs.
Shame they did it to a SAMBA.
Waiting for dave to say it is not a SAMBA??????
well i dont think it is ANYMORE!
Not all of those are chopped i think.. the factory brought out some weird combination (is that a pun?) models. Refer to a book by some one called
Simon Glen called Volkswagens of the World ("a comprehensive guide to volkswagens not built in germany & the unusual ones that were". I thought I'd seen some dubs but this bloke seems to have seen and
photographed the lot. Even a VW factory sports car (the SP1 & SP2), Air cooled front wheel drives various shapes and sizes of VWs. I got the book
from the library but am gunna order a copy. Thoroughly recommended and I'll put the ISBN HERE:

VERRRRY INTERESTING!
happy reading
