sounds like fun, had a very similar situation a week and a half ago except the a**hole wasn't a p-plater(i am) and he wasn't driving a falcon, it was a camry. mind you why'd you'd try overtake 2 cars on a blind bend i don't know...

haha. bad incident, but the car sh!tting itself sounds familiar. a couple of our past cars have had similar habits. our old Mini would simply cut out when heavy rain struck (not good on a freeway) and when there is a big storm brewing our Laser's blinkers speed up, when its pouring they are frantic.:D, and who said cars are just machines;):D

We had a wanker cut in between our bug and another car on the princess highway on the way back from volksday.
If i did not back off he would have cleaned up the front of our poor buzz.
to make me more aggrivated the tosser got off at the next exit which was not far away.
So he nearly caused an accident for the sake of a few seconds.
Bloody "p" plater in a commodore.

was talking to my dad a while back about minis (he used to work on them years back) said the weren't that good because the distributer was up front and got wet at the first opportunity, and the car would cut out.

(a then ill-informed me wondered why not just move the distributer:D oh how naive i was/am)

and just to share in the 'stupid other drivers' rant this evening while dropping of a friend a commodore overtook me to the left (yes in a one lane road) at about 80/90. gave me a startle.

that was after (a few turns before) a commodore blew past me at 80 or so in the left lane (100m before some lights), moved into the right lane (no indicators - why doesn't that surprise me) and then thought the better of it and mover through the left lane and turned left.

must be the season.

I wouldnt knock p platers, i am one and i constantly get cut off in my little golf and being a second year p plater, i not into being an idiot while driving public roads i say keep it on the racetrack. But i dunno what it is but maybe its war against VW drivers. One week i counted 4 near misses and this was simply me driving along the road minding my own business and suddenly the car changes lane right infront of me and i am watching the road. So therefore have been able to stop just in time but once i locked up the front wheels. Not good when you know the vacuum on the brake cylinder is not 100%. Must get that fixed or i might hit someone.

sorry to knock p-platers, that was not my intention... just this p-plater... i realise that there are good and bad drivers in all age brackets etc. just would have been a real shame to write off a new car within 4 months of owning it.

buzzbug - February 17th, 2004 at 08:06 AM

not meaning to knock all P platers.
Just the ones that think a gemini or rock stock camary with a loud muffler on it is a race car.
And yes i agree that every age group have some shit drivers.
